Programs for Adults |
Olivet New Church offers several Religious and Spiritual Growth programs for its adult congregation members and friends. Many programs run on an ongoing basis, but there are also special featured programs that run for a limited time on a predefined schedule.
Social Dinner and Doctrinal Class
Twice monthly, on Wednesday evenings (usually second and fourth of month), there is a social dinner and a topical doctrinal class are held at the church. Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m.; doctrinal class about 7:30 p.m. The meal cost per person is nominal. Volunteers to help prepare meals are always welcome.
Inquirer's Class
On the first Sunday of every month, there is a discussion group for people who are interested in exploring New Church Doctrines.
Womens Group
The Theta Alpha Guild (TAG) is an organization of women who meet several times a year for social activities and discussion and support for New Church Education. They are involved in ongoing service to the church through organizing a major gift program for the children of the church, visiting, hospitality, meals, kitchen maintenance and more as well as being involved in several charitable uses outside the church.
Mens Group
The Forward Sons Club meets monthly for a social dinner and a presentation by one of the members. Its mandate is 'to advance, in the light of Divine Revelation, the understanding of truth and its application to life, and thus to develop true masculinity.' As means to that end it works to promote the welfare of the church, the principles and practice of New Church Education and a spirit of male comradeship.
